Huskies battle Taylorsville in close region matchup

Hillcrest High School girls basketball battled through a close matchup against Taylorsville on Feb. 3, falling 33-30 in a low-scoring contest. The game was tied at halftime and although the Huskies outscored the Warriors in the fourth quarter, they were unable to close the gap. Seniors Bella Christensen, Abbi Clark, Addison Hone and Emily Mandel combined for 19 points. Despite the loss, the Huskies are fifth in 5A region 4 standings as of early February, ahead of Taylorsville. The 5A state tournament was set to begin Feb. 17, with championship play concluding Feb. 27 at the University of Utah.
