You & I Kitchen has two locations, one in West Jordan at 7092 S Redwood Road, and the newest location in Sandy at 8528 South 1300 East.
The West Jordan location has an established clientele who show up regularly for the delicious pho, Vietnamese stir-fry ramen, noodle bowls and sandwiches. But the Sandy location opened at the beginning of February, and Sean is eager to get people in to try his food. He brings 15 years of cooking experience to each dish.
“I decided to pursue my dreams and open a restaurant,” Sean says. “Mom would cook for us and she showed me how to make her recipes. When you cook something, you put your heart into it and cook with passion.”
Featuring traditional North Vietnamese cuisine, Sean says his food is slightly different from other Asian restaurants, and his mom’s recipes are a big hit with customers.
Vietnamese pho noodle soup is one the most popular menu items at You & I Kitchen. It’s rich beef soup stock, rice noodles and choice of meat is also a favorite of Sean’s. “Pho is a childhood dish from home. I eat it three or four times a week.”
You & I Kitchen also has delicious Vietnamese stir-fry ramen and fried rice, with several protein options. The sandwiches at the restaurant are top-notch with the choice of garlic rib-eye steak, honey-glazed pork, fried egg, or lemongrass chicken and tofu.
If you’re a fan of egg rolls, cream cheese wontons, potstickers, lettuce wraps or spring rolls, You & I Kitchen will soon become a favorite location. With a variety of smoothie options, including coconut and matcha, customers find lots of reasons to stop by, eat some good food and say hi to Sean.
“Mom’s recipes connect people around the world to Vietnamese food and Vietnam culture,” he says. “There are a lot of other [Asian] restaurants around but people don’t know much about Vietnamese food.”
You & I Kitchen was featured on ABC4’s Taste Utah, a show that highlights the state’s variety of culinary options. Learns more about the restaurant at youandikitchen.com.
“People love our food. Because of our West Jordan store, people already know us and we make sure the recipes are the same at both locations,” Sean says. “The name connects between individuals where you are invited into my kitchen personally.”
