Lunch is served daily at noon for a suggested lunch donation of $2.50 for seniors over 60. Others must pay $5.25. Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance.
TBA – Afternoon Movie. Watch the calendar for movies scheduled on various Monday and Tuesday afternoons. The Advisory Council will provide free popcorn, and soda pop is available for purchase. Enjoy the afternoon with friends while watching a new or old favorite movie.
Jan. 12, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Free Legal Consultation. 20–minute appointments available. Sign up required.
Jan. 16 – Holiday. Center is closed.
Jan. 20. 9:30 a.m. – Living Planet Aquarium Trip. Celebrate Penguin Day. Dress from head to toe in black and white and your entrance into the aquarium today is free. Entrance fee is $8 if you do not dress in black and white. Bus will leave at 9:30 a.m. and lunch is on your own at In-N-Out Burger.
Jan. 23, 9 a.m. – Fundraiser Breakfast. Join us for a scrumptious breakfast of sausage, eggs and pancakes. Tickets are pre-sold at the Center for $5; $5.50 at the door. Remember the Bake Sale Table and the Boutique.
Jan. 23, 1 p.m. – Afternoon Book Club. Lorraine from the Tyler Library will join us to discuss the book of the month. Books will be selected by those attending the book club. Pick up this month’s selection, “The Personal History of Rachel Dupree,” at the center.
Jan. 24, 11 a.m. – Chinese New Year Celebration. Party favors and treats will be provided. Please bring a small “gift” of fruit (such as an orange or single serving of Jell-O) to share.
Jan. 26 – Haircuts. Advance sign up required. If no one has signed up by the night before, the day’s appointment will be canceled.
Jan. 27, 10:45 a.m. – Leonardo Museum Trip. The Leonardo currently has a special exhibit on Human Rights. The bus will leave at 10:45 a.m. and return at approximately 3 p.m. Cost is $11 including sack lunch.
Jan. 30, 11 a.m. – Elvis Karaoke Contest. The King will be in the building (or it may be some seniors trying to be Elvis). All seniors willing to sing will receive a prize. First place winner will be determined by a panel of three independent judges and will receive a $10 Smith’s gift card. Those dressing like Elvis will earn extra points.
Jan. 30 – Movie Monday. The Center van takes seniors to a “$1 Theater.” With several movies to choose from, everyone has a choice.
Feb. 6 – Birthday Monday. If your birthday falls in the month of February, come for a free lunch sponsored by the Advisory Council. Call the Center for reservations. Reservations needed by Feb. 3.
Feb. 7 – “Tax People.” Have your taxes done for free. Call the Center to schedule a time, and take advantage of this great free service.

9 a.m. – Quilting. The quilting group makes single, queen size and baby quilts. Everyone welcome.
9:30 a.m. – Lori and Judith will help find resources for those having issues with groceries, transportation, utilities or health. Meet in the breakfast room.
9:30 to 11 a.m. - Walking at the Mall. Do you miss walking for exercise in the winter months? Catch the Midvale Senior Center bus to Fashion Place Mall. Enjoy walking, window shopping, and visiting with friends.
9:30 a.m. – Crocheting and Knitting. Please come if you’re interested in learning or just want to “hang out” with other handcrafters.
9:30 a.m. – Low Impact Tai Chi

11 a.m. – Sing-A-Long
