Sam's Club of Murray

707 days ago168 views

School is out and that means moms everywhere are scrambling to find activities and meals for their children. The Murray Sam's Club, 6525 South State Street, is there to help. They truly are a "one stop shop" and offer healthy snacks, easy meals and even trampolines at an unbeatable value.

If you haven't ever looked into becoming a member, Club Manager Robert Holbrook says Sam's Club's annual membership fee is not only lower than its competitor, they offer more value for your buck with name brands rather than a store brand.

"Customers want quality and that is why we sell name brands," Robert says. "These products give them assurance they are getting a quality product at a great value by buying in bulk."

For people who have reservations about paying a membership fee, Robert says this fee can easily be recouped in just a few visits with gasoline savings plus great in-store savings. Grocery stores have more than a 30 percent profit margin with items in a smaller packaging, he says. By purchasing in bulk, there is less packaging and the savings get passed on to the customer.

"Our motto is to have everyday low prices and give the customers the best price the minute we get it and that's why we don't have sales," Robert says. "Over a course of a year, that adds up and you can save tons of money."

Sam's Club also tries to recruit and sell local products to support the local community. They carry a great selection of gardening tools and supplies by Lifetime Products, based in Clearfield. Lifetime Products manufacture wheelbarrows, sheds, compositor bins and picnic tables.

The Murray Sam's Club location underwent an expansion and remodel last year. With more space, the store now offers two aisles just for baby care products. He says this allows them to provide double the merchandise of baby care products that their competitor offers.

"We expanded the products to meet the needs of the large families in this area," Robert says.

In an effort to continue to look for ways to meet the needs of the community, Robert and his sales associates participate in local volunteer initiatives. The 30 associates have accumulated more than 150 service hours this year, helping non-profit businesses within the community they serve. They participate in activities at the Boy's and Girl's Club of Murray and support Make-A-Wish by donating cakes for its celebrations.

"We want to make an impact and make a difference and as a local business we hope to inspire others and lead by example," Robert says.
